• Mischa Maisky has the distinction of being the only cellist in the world to have studied with both Mstislav Rostropovich and Gregor Piatigorsky.

Mia madre nata in Francia, mio fratello maggiore in Belgio, quello intermedio in Italia e il più giovane in Svizzera, guido una macchina giapponese, indosso un orologio svizzero, una collana indiana e mi sento a casa ovunque la popolazione apprezzi e gusti la Musica Classica.

• Mischa nato nel 1948 a Riga (Lettonia) padre della pianista Lily Maisky (nata nel 1987), con la quale suona spesso in duo.

• Artista esclusivo della Deutsche Grammophon durante gli ultimi 25 anni ha effettuato oltre 30 incisioni con prestigiose Orchestre: Filarmonica di Vienna, Filarmonica di Berlino, London Simphony Orchestra, Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestra di Parigi, Orpheus Chamber Orchestra e altre.

• Nel 2000 ha tenuto una tournée mondiale, che ha previsto più di 100 concerti, con un programma dedicato a Bach; allo scopo di esprimere la sua profonda ammirazione per questo grande compositore, Mischa Maisky ha registrato il - Solo Suites - di Bach per la 3a volta.

• Le sue incisioni hanno ottenuto il consenso unanime della critica mondiale e sono state insignite 5 volte del prestigioso Record Academy Prize a Tokyo, 3 volte Echo Deutscher Schallplattenpreis, Gran Prix du Disque a Parigi e Diapason d’Or dell’anno, così come delle ambite nomination ai Grammy Awards.

• Musicista di livello internazionale e ospite fisso nei maggiori Festival Internazionali ha collaborato con i piu' grandi direttori d'orchestra Leonard Bernstein, Charles Dutoit, Carlo Maria Giulini, Lorin Maazel, Zubin Mehta, Riccardo Muti, James Levine, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Giuseppe Sinopoli e Daniel Barenboim.
- Le sue partnership hanno incluso artisti come Martha Argerich, Radu Lupu, Nelson Freire, Evgeny Kissin, Lang Lang, Peter Serkin, Gidon Kremer, Yuri Bashmet, Vladim Repin, Maxim Vengerov, Joshua Bell, Julian Rachlin e Janin Jansen.
